Overall Vision Originality Technique ImpactWhat a wonderful surprise which has arrived in my inbox. I love seeing these style of pin up girlies in vector. So the initial impression was just "wow" - I'm unable to reference free these things so I have a huge amount of respect for people who can!
On further inspection however, there are a few things which I feel could have had a bit more work.
For instance, the line art on the nose is (almost) black and it looks a bit too much pronounced because of this. I think you should have kept the colour of that and maybe the nostrils to the outline colour of the rest of the body.
I think the line art on the flowers could have been a bit more smooth. Flowers by nature are pretty delicate so the sharp angles you can see take away from this. It would have given it a more feminine edge for there to be less corners perhaps?
I love the skin shading and colouring. I think this has been done very well. The blushes of pink on the joints is a great touch. Gives it more of a cheeky edge!
I love how you've drawn the eyes, they are full of life with the light sources on there. Great work. However, the eye on the left should be a bit more round. It seems unnatural on the edge, as if it's going to a point. It should be more curved.
The lips and teeth are fabulous. I might have been tempted to add a darker, only slightly darker red around the edges to make them stand out a bit more. However this might be lost due to the black line on the nose.
The gradient work on this is great and the simple sunset esque gradient in the backgroun is a good display of this. Simple. Clean and very effective.
The general curves to the body, and even more so on the legs and calves are amazing. I love the details in the foot on the floor. Simply beautiful. The shell bracelet is wonderfully illustrated also.
I think in closing, a lot more detail/patience should have been spent on the line work to make it appear more smooth (the flower, hair, eyes) and it would have made it bang on near perfectly rendered.
